Birdstories takes you walking through the paths of Tuscany among nature, culture and history, a way to spend your free time outdoors, get to know each other, discover new places and connect with nature. Tuscany is rich in different territories and environments, exploring them in different seasons or even different days always represents a new experience for us who explore, because in the natural environment everything is constantly changing in accordance with external conditions, and new encounters are never lacking! Discover every option!
The unpaved roads and lonely oaks, the bramble woods where the sun never beats in winter, sudden gullies in the middle of the woods with fossil shells embedded in the clay, coppice-governed holm oaks, villages, churches, cypresses, the abandoned vineyards, noises of tractors, songs of pigeons and robins, roe deer in love, wild boar races, these are the sensations after an adventure in the woods or a beautiful walk in the hills that stretch around San Miniato. In this little piece of Tuscany pass roads and rivers that have long united it with the world, accustomed to arrivals and departures, passages, meetings, exchanges. Hoping that it can stay like this for much longer we meanwhile go to discover it by walking and getting to know its beautiful and wild corners.
You come out of the woods and below you is a meadow with many sheep eating grass in the wild, you come out of the woods and two horses graze in a corral, as if from another era, you come out of the woods and here is a silent piaggia, covered with red earth. This chain of hills divides the valley of the Elsa River from the plain of Siena, begins by skimming the Merse River where the beautiful Castle of Montarrenti stands and extends to Mount Maggio and Monteriggioni. All covered with woods of chestnut trees, holm oaks, turkey oaks, downy oaks, maples, manna ashes, hornbeams and so on... Rich in nature, parish churches, castles and paths, it is a perfect place to walk in nature and learn about the history of the Sienese territory.
Monticiano is a small town, a place of passage, joining Siena to the Grosseto Maremma, surrounded by woods, rivers and streams. Those who have been there, those who have lived there and those who live there, remain enraptured by its positive vibrations and its calm. If the village of Monticiano were the crown of a tree, the streams would be its roots. Water is the leitmotif that accompanies us, exploited in the past with mills and ironworks, exploited today to cool off in summer and take warm baths in Petriolo in winter. We are in the cradle of biodiversity in the province of Siena with some of its most beautiful nature reserves, that of the Alto Merse, Basso Merse, the Farma Valley and the Pietra Nature Reserve. A territory all to be discovered by walking, wading and observing.

My passion fueled my curiosity and together with determination and respect for nature, I managed to become one of the first women to practice birdwatching professionally. I strongly believe in enhancing natural environments and know how nature is everywhere around us, we just need to train our senses to be able to recognize it better. Do you want to go on a nature discovery trip with me?
Birdstories will be your safe space: diversity and inclusion are celebrated and no form of discrimination will ever be accepted or tolerated
Each itinerary can be customised to be accessible for everybody: this allows anyone to participate and enjoy the joy of a birding and a nature experience.
I personally know the itineraries, I propose and I create them to pass on all my love for the region, promoting places and people who care about the environment.
