Margherita di Savoia salt pans represent an important habitat for migratory, breeding and wintering birds. In addition to Greater Flamingoes, Black-winged Stilt, Oystercatcher, Slender-billed gull. During migration it is possible to observe Caspian Tern, Ruff, Common Sandpiper, Common Greenshank, Common Redshank, Dunlin and many more.

A local expert guide will take you to discover the area of the salt marshes of Margherita di Savoia and its moltitude of birds. We will stop at several observation points in the Salt Plans area and we also visit the Laguna del Re nature reserve in old Paludi Sipontine. Bring binoculars, wear hiking shoes and long trousers. Also bring water, sun cream, sun hat, mosquito spray and rain cape. The guide speaks Italian, English and German.
