We are in a nature reserve of the kind that allows a full immersion and engages all the senses in a truly remarkable experience. One only has to take a walk in a Schorfheide forest, for example along a lake, to hear an orchestral sound and observe bird species that make this a truly exciting experience. You can count five species of woodpeckers, wild geese and cranes, which roost elegantly in the wet meadows between the forests. You can spot Common Cranes nesting in the flooded alder woods and birds of prey flying overhead. There is certainly no shortage of birds to watch and listen to!

If you like birding and nature and are on vacation in Berlin, you absolutely must spend a day in the Schorfheide.You can reach it comfortably by train from Berlin and then hike it. But you can also customize the 'hike to suit your needs and use a 'car to get to the observation sites more easily. Bring your binoculars, wear hiking shoes and long pants. Also bring water, sunscreen, sun hat, mosquito spray and rain cape. The guide speaks Italian, English and German.
